An Introduction to the Mashgin Cafeteria

The lunch rush is the hardest hour of the day. Everything that touches it should work as one system.

Most cafeterias run on a mix of systems added over time, each one solving a real problem. In AHF’s 2026 research, operators asked for platforms that connect ordering, checkout, and reporting — fewer things to manage separately, not another tool to add.

This session introduces the Mashgin Cafeteria: one platform running the operation on shared menus, pricing, and reporting. The core parts are MashTab for ordering and kitchen, Vision Checkout for AI self-checkout, and Mobile Ordering for off-shift and overnight access, with Mashgin Loyalty and MashCash coming. It also connects to the systems already in place, so a unified operation does not mean replacing everything at once. In 30 minutes we walk through what each part does and what it takes off the operator’s plate.

Upon completion, the attendee will be able to:

Cover the rush without adding headcount.
Explain how onsite self-ordering and Mobile Ordering absorb peak volume, and where the labor redeploys.
Every order channel in one queue.
Describe how MashTab brings mobile, onsite, and walk-up orders onto a single screen.
Labor recovered, plus a revenue window you are currently closed for.
Assess what a rollout involves, then size both halves: hours returned to the service line, and overnight sales captured once regular service ends.
