Strong Ties with Supply Chain Manager Supports Departmental Success

Foodservice directors and department staff need to have strong relationships with so many administrators and leaders within a healthcare facility or system, however perhaps one of the most critical relationships is with your Supply Chain leader. This relationship can play a key role in your department’s success, and its ability to remain self-operated. Hear from Kevin Vos, VP of Environmental Services and Nutrition Services and his Supply Chain Senior Vice President, Bill Selles, at Corewell Health on how they have forged a relationship for success. They will explore the role each of them play to positively impact not only the nutrition services department, but the facility as a whole.
Kevin and Bill will provide a detailed look at their working relationship, how best to manage vendor relations and the relationship and goals of your Group Purchasing Organization (GPO), and how they work in tandem to accomplish the Nutrition Services department goals. They’ll share specific real-world examples of where the relationship can be leveraged, making it so the facility can feel more prepared in combating economic stress, meet financial goals, and fend off contractor bids.
Learning Objectives:
  1. Understand the importance of the relationship between the supply chain manager and nutrition services leader and the role each should play.
  2. Identify areas the supply chain manager and nutrition services leader can work together to ensure departmental success.
  3. Understand areas where and when working with your supply chain manager can be beneficial to your department.
