Utilizing Unique Talent Programs to Attract Employees
It’s
no surprise that staffing and labor issues continue to challenge our industry.
High turnover rates and the ability to find and hire qualified candidates can
be a daunting and frustrating task these days. But, many facilities are finding
creative ways to find new talent and train existing employees to help fill
their teams.
During this webinar, three member operators will share both in-house and community programs they’ve turned to when hiring and retaining staff. Bryan Cicchini with Beaumont Health will share how he’s worked with Project Search to train and employ young people with significant disabilities and the many successes they’ve encountered along the way. Kevin Vos will discuss a literacy program Spectrum health has partnered with in western Michigan to encourage currently employed non-native English speakers at their facility to improve their language skills to not only be more inclusive, but to draw from a growing pool of refugees in their area. And finally, Joe Ninneman at Advocate Aurora Health will share insights about his Culinary Apprenticeship Program, where participants take part in a three-year training program, after which they are invited to take full-time positions with the hospitals.
